Abstract:Translation Criticism bears the responsibility of introspecting and guiding translation practice.New progress has been made in the research of criticism on the English translation of Chinese medical classics, but there are still some problems such as the lack of rational guidance in the research of “explicit” criticism, the tendency of one-sidedness and simplification in the research of “implicit” criticism, and the lack of ethical relevance of criticism. This paper holds that due attention should be paid to the construction of theory construction and the promotion of a criticism mode encompassing three levels with multiple dimensions, emphasizing the need for a multi-level approach to seek ‘truth’, discuss ‘effectiveness’, and aspire to ‘goodness’ in translation criticism.
