This paper examines the issue of translators'discourse meaning construction and relevant competence from discoursal perspective. The study shows that the translation process is essentially the process of translators' discourse construction, and the competence to construct discourse meaning is an important manifestation of translators' translation competence. This competence mainly encompasses discourse linguistic ability, discourse cultural ability, and discourse professional ability. This study aims to shed light on exploring the approach to cultivating high-level translators.
