The Peony Pavilion，as the masterpiece of Tang Xianzhu’s dramas, is a characteristic of the playwright’s romantic attachment and classical artistry, which is impressively embodied in Jitang verses. This paper is intended to elaborate on the communicative operations of Wang Rongpei’s English translation of Jitang verses regarding the properties of the emerging neo-metrical school.
