Abstract:Genius in the world of Schopenhauerian aesthetics is commissioned to illuminate and disseminate the concept “idea” by transcending his own will and desire and breaking through myriads of representations. Far beyond the conceptual rationality, the per-ceptual intuition enriched by the boundless imagination endows him a broad horizon where the idea is about to surface. However, where the subject and object are intertwined, genius is doomed to plunge into melancholy, caprice, loneliness and endless misery after he is enlightened with the knowledge of the will if life, therefore Schopenhauerian genius is affected, shaped and modeled by his pessimistic philosophy.
