Abstract:There exit huge differences among different versions of Chinese Classics due to many reasons such as past ages, language evolution and changes of historical social lives. Therefore, it is particularly important to choose a high-quality source text among different versions before interpreting or translating them. With an example to further explore the source text of Huai Nan Zi (Chinese-English) Translated by Zhai Jiangyue & Mou Aipeng, it is intended to give full consideration to the selection of the source texts, the choice of the best one among different versions with much more influence, and the recognition of its relevant details in the preface or postscript, in order to offer convenience for readers' reading & research and enhance persuasion of the translation to some extent.
